The de facto test is the SunSpider test, sponsored by WebKit. Looks like Google is no longer a fan, having manipulated their search results by removing it completely from their index. The problem isn&#8217;t just limited to searching for &#8220;sunspider&#8221;, as it also includes &#8220;sunspider javascript test&#8221;, and &#8220;sunspider benchmark&#8221;, as none of the results contain the actual link to the <a href=\"www.webkit.org\/perf\/sunspider\/sunspider.html\" target=\"_blank\">SunSpider JavaScript benchmark<\/a>.<br \/>\nInterestingly, Bing isn&#8217;t censoring the SunSpider JavaScript speed test:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianroizen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Screen-Shot-2013-06-24-at-11.53.02-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-131\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2013-06-24 at 11.53.02 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brianroizen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Screen-Shot-2013-06-24-at-11.53.02-PM.png\" width=\"649\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brianroizen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Screen-Shot-2013-06-24-at-11.53.02-PM.png 649w, https:\/\/www.brianroizen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Screen-Shot-2013-06-24-at-11.53.02-PM-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/www.brianroizen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Screen-Shot-2013-06-24-at-11.53.02-PM-500x289.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 649px) 100vw, 649px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it&#8217;s because Internet Explorer actually <a href=\"http:\/\/ie.microsoft.com\/testdrive\/benchmarks\/sunspider\/\" target=\"_blank\">surpasses Chrome in the sunspider benchmark<\/a>\u00a0because it makes use of hardware acceleration.
